Apple’s Safari browser can take advantage of the Anyone.io network as a free proxy, allowing you to browse privately and securely on your Mac. Even though Safari itself doesn’t have in-app proxy settings, it uses your Mac’s system network settings – so by configuring a SOCKS5 proxy at the system level, Safari will send all its traffic through the Anyone.io network. Click the Apple menu and go to System Preferences (or System Settings on macOS Ventura and above), then select Network.

In the Proxies tab, you’ll see a list of protocols. Check the box for SOCKS Proxy. Then in the SOCKS Proxy Server fields, input the Anyone.io proxy details. For the Address, enter the proxy host (for example, 127.0.0.1 if the Anyone.io client or relay is running on your Mac/network). For the Port, enter 9050. (Leave Username/Password blank unless your proxy specifically requires it – the Anyone.io free proxy typically does not use login authentication.)
Click OK to close the advanced panel, then click Apply in the Network settings to save the changes. Now launch Safari and start browsing as usual. Safari will automatically use the SOCKS5 proxy we configured, meaning all your web requests are now going through the privacy-protecting Anyone.io network.
